At The Greetland Academy we pride ourselves on the excellent standard of school meals we produce each day whilst meeting the Government’s guidelines on menu setting. Nutrition and a healthy balance are key factors in our menu development. Alongside this, ensuring the children enjoy their meals whilst balancing Government guidelines, personal preferences and seasonal options is a challenge we rise to.
We hope that all parents will agree that our school meals service is something we should value very highly. We are constantly sourcing local and organic produce; listening to pupil and parent requests, as well as complying with government legislation.
The cost of a school meal is £2.60 per meal for KS2 pupils. Payment is required in advance and can be made on-line by visiting Arbor. Alternatively please make payments at the KS2 school office.
School meals for KS1 are fully funded by the government.
Milk is available to all children at our Key Stage 1 site if parents register with CoolMilk:
For all our under 5’s this is free. When children reach their fifth birthday then they can continue to receive milk as part of the CoolMilk scheme for approximately £15 per term. Simply register online or collect a registration form from the school office.
We are always looking for ways to support our pupil’ learning, well being and development throughout the school day. One area that plays a key role in this is nutrition, particularly the snacks children eat during mid-morning breaks.
With that in mind, we have a list of approved healthy snacks. These foods are designed to support sustained energy, better concentration, and overall health, helping children to stay focused and make the most of their learning. Please look for low sugar/low salt or no added sugar options. Please ensure nothing is chocolate covered or sweets made from fruit.
Children are welcome to bring in a snack of their own from the following list:
KS1 Children will have the opportunity during the day to have a piece of fruit or vegetable provided by the Government. This includes a different choice each day e.g. banana, carrot, pear, apple or orange.
Please remember, we are a nut-free school. This includes all nuts and peanuts, as well as products that may contain nuts. Alwasy check labels carefully before packing snacks.
